I woke up and walked slowly out of my room. It felt like I was walking down an incredibly long hallway. It was six o'clock in the morning and my brother already had his music blasting. I recognized the song, Don't Talk To Strangers by Hedley. I knocked on his door and he opened it.
"Turn it down!" I screamed.
"Make me!" He screamed back. I pushed him and walked to his radio and pulled his I-pod out of the docking station. He looked at me with fierce eyes. I ran down the hallway.
"Give it back!"He yelled at me as he grabbed me and put me into a headlock. I bit him.
"Only if you listen to my idea and turn down the music." He raised an eyebrow.
"I'll listen to your idea but I'm not turning the music down." He answered. I looked at him and let go of his I-pod.
"Fine. Here's the idea. We build a Time Machine."I suggested.
"Hey, I remember that when we were five we wanted to build a Time Machine so we could have Bonnie and Jerry back!" I stared at him in surprise.
"Yea, but don't you mean Mom and Dad?" I asked.
"Yea! Anyway lets get to building the Time Machine." He replied happily.
At ten o'clock we rode our bikes to the junk yard. We found lots of pieces of scrap metal, wood, pipes and even a small couch we could put in there. We layed the base of the Time Machine on the floor and put the couch on it. The couch fit perfectly there was just enough room to fit a lever on top of the couch. We rounded the bigger and thinner pieces of metal to make the walls and the roof. In about an hour we were done.
We took a couple steps back to look at our creation. It was beautiful. I'd never seen anything like it, except for in movies.
"Tom? You ready to go to the future?" I asked.
"Um... Molly, who said anything about going to the future. Were going to World War 2!" He answered with an exciting tone.
"Tom! Think about it, if we go to World War 2 we could die out there and never be able to return. If we go to the future we could see how wonderful our lives would become!" I replied with a big smile.
"Molly! Why don't you think for once. If we go to the future we would see how wonderful our lives would be but, we might think their too wonderful and want to stay and that would ruin all of time and space. On the other hand if we go to World War 2 we could learn to fight!" He answered back.
"Tom that's stupid we would still ruin the course of time!" I yelled.
"Molly I know what I'm doing so just SHUT UP!" He yelled back. He put his hand on the lever and started to pull it down. I put my hand up on top of his. He had persuaded me in to doing this so we pulled it down together. There was this terrible squeaking sound and then Tom had disappeared.
"Tom! Where are you? Tom! This isn't funny!" I screamed. The room I was in was shaking. I was terrified! I opened the door, there were people running everywhere women screaming, babies crying and bombs dropping.
"Close the door and get down." Someone said behind me. I squatted down on the floor and turned around.
"Who are you?" I whispered.
"I'm Stefan. You?" He whispered back.
"I'm Molly Hughes. Where am I?" I asked.
"Your in the middle of a war." He exclaimed.
"What?" I trembled. I felt myself go cold.
I woke up half an hour later.
"What happened?" I gasped.
"You fainted but I caught you before you hit your head." He smiled.
"Thank you Stefan." I kissed him. I stopped and smiled. He kissed me back. I think I found the love of my life.
Meanwhile, in the future of 2015.
"Molly? Molly where are you?" Tom cried. He walked everywhere looking for Molly. He walked up to a stranger. Looks like the song Don't Talk To Strangers, didn't make him learn anything.
"Hi. Who are you?" Tom asked.
"I'm Mr. Tom Hughes and this is my wife Daisy Hughes and our three kids, Tim, Donny and Melissa." The young man answered. Tom's mouth drooped open.
"Your me?" Tom asked. The man looked at him.
"What do you mean young boy?" Older Tom asked.
"Long story but, I travelled from the past. Older Tom looked so disturbed he looked like he was going to book it! His wife started backing away while the kids huddled behind her.
"Look, look! I'm not some crazy person honestly! Look, Daisy, look at me!" He grabbed hold of the women. Daisy struggled to get free.
"Daisy! Just look at me or goodness sake!" Tom yelled. Daisy knew he was getting annoyed so she just glanced at him then did a double take. It was the Tom Hughes she knew from school, the Tom Hughes she knew and loved. She smiled. All three kids looked at each other.
"Mommy's lost it hasn't she??" Tim whispered. Tom slapped him over the head.
"No she hasn't!" Tom answered. Married Tom and Daisy looked at each other then replied in unison, "We guess you can stay with this until you want to go home." Daisy hugged younger Tom and then they all walked on home.
During World War 2! Molly was scared out of her skin.
"Stefan, this is not what I wanted! I wanted to see my future except I see this! No! No! No! This is all wrong! Just completely wrong!" She screamed. Stefan gestured for her to calm down.
"Look, Molly. Just calm. Every thing's going to be alright, as long as you trust me." He whispered into my ear. I nodded.
"You trust me don't you?" He asked with a wondering expression.
"I... I think so." I stuttered. Just as I replied there was a big explosion and Stefan leaped out the way. He was too late though a wall had collapsed and it was slowly killing him.
"STEFAN!" I screamed. Tears ran down my face.
"M-Molly?" Stefan stuttered slowly. He was losing his breath.
"I'm here!" I answered. I grabbed his hand and held it tight.
"I-I need to tell you something." Stefan replied with gasps of breath between every word.
"What is it Stefan?" I asked with a worried look on my face. He took one big gasp of breath.
"I... I love you! From the moment you suddenly appeared in this very room. I know you won't be with me anymore but... will you promise to stay with me while I'm in spirit?" He was serious about this.
"I love you too Stefan. I loved you from the moment I saw you as well. Just don't say that though because I will always be with you. I mean we'll always be together and I promise." I cried a bit more. His grasp of his hand on my was loosening. I cried heavily.
"Molly goodbye!" Stefan gave away one last breath.
"Stefan! No! Don't do this to me now!" I screamed and let out a huge wail. Tears just kept flooding down my cheeks. Stefan was gone. I was never going to see him again.
About a week later, Tom and I were back together.
"Tom!" I yelled happily.
"Molly!" Tom yelled back also sounding happy. Tom picked me up and swung me around.
"I missed you, but World War 2 was great. I met a guy called Stefan. Until he died." I almost started to cry again. I put my head on Tom's shoulder.
"I missed you too Molly, but the future was great too. I met my older self and his wife Daisy and their three kids, Tim, Donny and Melissa." Tom smiled and then we both sat on the couch said goodnight and fell fast asleep.
